Sad to hear the sailing yacht is elegely being cut up , let's hope they change their mind! It seemed very
Repairable if you ask me , just cut out deformed hull parts /re framing and rePlating the mid ship potion of the yath ,I colour understand the scrapping decision if the ship was "keel broken" , or torn over larger areas up in the under water hull section, but this seems stupid, like a how insurance company would think.
I get that the interior would be damaged but the steel hull does not
Get destroyed by so short submerging. I hope the the rigging and sails get salvaged at least.
Someone with a dream of a ship like that ,with the skill to weld steel, and time to fix it but not nesseery the economy to afford to buy a new ship could have made there dream come true. Or sea scouts / saling camp organiser.
But the insurens company shoose the easy bureaucratic/ cold think soultion.

A :Well we own it now after paying out insurance..... what do we do with it...
B :It's a beautiful ship someone would surely buy it and fix it .. a shame to destroy it.

From the footage it looks very much as though "THE BEAST" is a catamaran. Pity the camera didn't pan all the way round to the bow.
Curious to see what look like permanently attached dolly wheels on the rib.
But I'm even more curious about the device on the aft end of the crane jib. Visible from 2:11 to 2:19, it looks like some kind of hydraulic attachment that's been pivoted into a vertical position for stowage but can be raised to lock into the end of the jib when in use. Can anyone shed any light on what it may be?
