Sadly, neither you nor Maya appears to be a Christian, but that is the trend in Europe and North America, so there's nothing unusual there. Who knows how much deeper your encounter with the ocean might be if you were? 

I am refitting my fourth keelboat, a thirty-foot blue-water cruiser for jaunts around our Hawaiian islands with my children and grandchildren. The sailing here is normally white-knuckled, but that's how I like it, and the views are spectacular. Aloha!
