They are one of the most carcinogenic materials you could ever burn. They will release a very toxic and cancerous gas when burned. Also, even if you were to stand 50 feet away from the fire, the gas will still surround you. When the gases burn out and mix with the oxygen in the air it does not rise and float away, it actually settles in along the ground and up to about 8 ft in the air.

Just an FYI for the future.
