Went on the Tour of Alcatraz many years ago, no audio tour, conducted totally by a personable, informed and entertaining member of the National Parks Service. A highlight of our visit to SF. Ranger guided walks and snow-shoeing in NP's were some of the best things we did visiting the Western States on that trip. I hope these activities aren't being cut due to 'budget constraints.'

Thanks for sharing your experiences! My daughter is going on a school field trip to Alcatraz soon. That anchorage looked like a really nice spot, I'll have to make it over there sometime. It looked like you saw fleet week's airshow on Friday as we went Saturday and you could barely see anything through the fog and i heard Sundays had the blue angels cancel the show!
