How is the repairs going to get the internal motor working? Would it be possible to use that and the outboard at the same time to go faster?

Have you found a sailmaker yet or a good used main sail?

Great boat prep guys! I was thinking the same to try borrow a larger/ longer leg outboard for your transom mount. Nice job editing too Jo. I sailed back from Lord Howe a week before those cyclones developed and watched those systems scim past and plough into NZ and felt greatfull not to be in the Tasman during. What’s your sailing plan this year?

Scary conditions, and it looked like you were as well prepared as you could have been under the circumstances. You were fortunate it changed direction. In terms of the dinghy, I guess secured in the cockpit would be the best as it is not increasing the wind resistance as it would on the foredeck. I don't a dinghy would last long in the water as the attachements would be torn off.

Loved the violin Jo. I was sure to see Nemo climbing up into the cockpit with the 65kg anchor slung over his shoulder ready to deploy when needed. I guess NV was never supposed to stay still on an anchor always itching to get moving forward as she was bred for lol. Great and real episode.
