CIMITAR ELECTRIC//Sfâșierea întregului fir-Episodul 120

Săptămâna aceasta scoatem tot firul din Dauntless și rămânem cu un munte de cabluri. Comentează mai jos cât crezi că cântărește. 1. Ok I know there is alot of wire in boats but that seems crazy. leave it all out and pick up a extra couple of knots boat speed from the weight reduction haha

  2. Your pile of wire that came out looks like the old owner had every electric option available installed, I’m sure it’s normal for a 50’ cat though. 825 lbs is my guess. It would be interesting to know how much weight you go back in with.

  3. I like the weight reduction. Not only will you have the only 50 with a single-piece mast but the only under 15t as well… 😜🤣

  4. My best guess 1259lbs. The 9lbs was a typo so I left it in as I thought that might make me the winner. My guess of what you might save in weight will put 25% less of the actual weight, Hopefully more. Really looking forward see the process and labeling of all the new wiring, including your design of the distribution panels. We have a 2013 Leopard 48 so watching your rewiring is going to be fun for me to watch. Though watching you cut and pull existing wiring and panels was super scary for me to watch. Good luck.

  5. How the wire is with the coating still on I would say a ton 2000 lbs. Actual wire once stripped 1000lbs.

  6. I'm gonna guess around 2300 pounds unstripped wire. Betting with circuit consolidation and boat converting to 48 volts and AC power you'll save 600 pounds of copper on the refit.

  7. I work in the commercial A/V industry and pull out lot s of cable, you have to be at least a ton lighter.
I agree with Nurses Rock on Teals work is very clean.

  8. Are you guys ever gonna sail? I love the channel and have learned so much but dying with memories had a different meaning for me than nightmares of wiring. Where do you get your stamina to push on? I love the idea of sailing but this could be Dauntless, good luck with the refit. Yikes. I’ll keep watching but there comes a point where you gotta cut the ties to the dock. Lots of luck.

  9. I saw that the large gauge battery cables were compromised but hard to believe that all that red branch circuit wiring was bad

  10. This gave me anxiety watching all that wire come out. 796 lbs. NASA used to use ferrets to run wires through the space shuttle in tight spaces… just saying maybe it’s time to invest in a ferret or two for the re-wire job.

  11. The pile is not fully visible but let me guess, you pulled out around 473kg.
You will get more if you strip all prior giving to recycle. 😛 🏃‍♂*dash away*

    Cheers
    Marc

  12. I’ve been watching you guys and this blows me away how much wiring is in this boat. I’m more interested to see how much you have to put in and how tedious it must be to do a whole boat. Good luck and I’m enjoying your videos.
