Folding and flaking Carbon sails always makes me cringe. They will fail on the crease. If storing, can you not roll them?

Or just go Dacron? Leave the carbon for the fast stuff.

My dad used to do this with his old racing sails – my earliest memories are with his cotton-duck sails (which had to be staked out if you tipped over and got them wet). Also, older sails would 'blow out' in high winds. Their center of effort would move back away from the mast making them not point to windward as well. With the better and better Dacron and other materials, sails held up better and he stopped doing the re-cutting and re-sewing.

Perhaps you can use the other good jib… the 4th according to the vid… To support or replace all the patches on your Mainsail. Fair winds my friends.
