Hey Mark, did you know a 'hardwood' tree differs from a 'softwood' tree not iin the hardness of it's wood but the structure of the tree itself. Hardwoods shed their leaves in Winter while softwoods are evergreen like pines. Balsa, the wood that is often used to build model aeroplanes is extremely light and soft but is actually a hardwood species.

dude, if you believe you can get closer to home and find a more reasonably priced marina there, then i say go for it. sail it there. it looks to me like it would make it, but you would know better than anyone else, i mean you have scrubbed and ran your hands over every inch of that ship.
but i would definitely check what's under the water first.
after that i say go for it.
i mean imagine what you could do with all that extra money. that's a lot of funds that you could put towards the fiberglass work you are gonna need to do.
also, it would be 1 hell of an adventure for your first sail

I don’t get the comments: “great work Mark, “you’re getting there”, “looking good!” For goodness sake, are any of you boaters, any of you have any boat restoring experience?? Till now it is just all amateurish temporary little jobs which he has done. The guy claimed he would be blue water sailing this year!!! This Wharam even never had rigging!
