I adore this kind of video. Just lots of specific examples and the little things in those examples to look for. Everyone knows the broads, but I learned so much about the specifics from this. I look forward to seeing more like this.

Most boats has a one or more minor flaws,
So go to the boat forum for that particular boat, and ask the boat owners there about specific things one should take a look at before buying.

If you see a sailboat you like, forget why you like. Go onboard. Don't admire anything. Take up the cabin sole and examine the bilges carefully. Then dismantle any engine compartment and examine the installation right back to the stern tube, if you are lucky enough to get at it. Find out how the owner inspects or cleans the inside of all tanks. If you still like the boat, get a surveyor of high reputation.

Why not use the prop to produce power when under sail? Surely it would turn as you sail wouldn't it? Or is it easier just to run a generator off the side as you sail? Those stabilizers plates you use at anchor to stop boat sway should also be used to produce power to charge batteries. just seams a waste to me.
