Noticed your OB tank was quite full. You probably forgot to open the tank vent or it was frozen over and sealed creating a vacuum and preventing the fuel in your gravitational fuel feed system from flowing into the carb. Trust me – I've done it myself with that very motor. It happened to me on Catalina Island at night in the summer. I had no oars or radio and the wind was blowing me out of Two harbors toward LA when an accommodating young lady took me in tow back to the island, festivities and embarrassment.

Well, more open space around You does mean more fetch, too, however. With good anchoring gear and a cast-iron stomach though, You can ride out even "less disappointing" storms out in more open anchorages.
That outboard-motor-first-mate-coalition to ensure the more quiet rowing is chosen for means of transportation - a classic, to put it mildly. Doesn't hurt in that temperatures and with the time You got at hand anyway I reckon. Thanks for sharing!

I have a tohatsu 5 and it conks out from time to time. Generally either the breather screw on the fuel tank is closed or a fouled plug.
But in 20 years of use she is a beauty.
