Another feature you may want to ask for on the binocs is either optical or digital stabilization. You were standing on land and the view was all over the place. Now multiply that with bobbing around and swaying in wind and they'd be fairly useless in all but the calmest of conditions.

You shouldn't need to use glasses with the binoculars, you should be able to set them up to your eyes. They might have settings for several people. Might be worth asking the manufacturer.
