Interesting how the the small increase in window size makes such a noticeabIe diffence to the light and feel of the interior love. All that sanding is a massive amount of work, good to see that painting is getting closer. Love the U Green Promotion, great for overnight camping/boating expeditions too.
Wow better buy a saw blade that says acrylic on it there appears to be a lot of design in a saw blade to prevent chipping. For cutting acrylic, the teeth of the saw blade should have the triple-chip design, where the cutting edge of every other tooth is beveled. The beveled tooth, or crown tooth, removes the material in the center of the cut while the flat-top raker tooth follows behind, removing material from the edges of the cut. This results in the production of three separate "chips" – center, left side and right side – and hence, the term triple-chip design. On some designs, the flat-top raker tooth also has very slight bevels along the top side-edges of the tooth. This helps to reduce chipping by reducing the notching affect caused by a square cutting edge.
Best results are achieved when the teeth have a clearance angle (top clearance) of 10 to 15 degrees. This minimizes contact between the teeth and the material – reducing friction and resulting in less melting. The proper rake or "hook" angle, 0 to 10 degrees positive, ensures the teeth do not strike the material too aggressively. Higher angles can lead to chipping due to poor blade stability and poor control of material feed rates.
For gang cutting of stacked sheets, a saw blade whose teeth have increased radial clearance is recommended. This clearance will reduce carbide/plastic contact on the sides of the teeth and, therefore, reduce heat generated by friction. U
I'm curious if you have looked at polycarbonate. Might be a bit more expensive than acrylic but you can go much thinner for more weight saving and it adds a lot more impact resistance than acrylic. The only downside that I know of is it might scratch a little more easily than acrylic. But it still buffs out easily.
I'm guessing your choice of windows need a larger opening?
I'm getting bored with this now
polycarbonate better than acrylic is brittle
If you cut and remove the lip in pieces as you go it will give you more room and better angles for the saw .
Personally I'd go for glass over acrylic any day.
Your ads are much better than any of the YouTube ads.
In a proffessional workshop environment this would have been 2 people's work I'd imagine so pretty daunting for one well done jessica
Spray sock first look is spring smurf. Second look wanted to go a little darker . So paired with a mask and a headlamp you get more dune and less smurf.
Acrylic – color, thickness, UV & scratch resistant, impact strength from a broaching wave or fast moving object?
Each week you move closer the trimming around the windows is just another step closer to the water.
how thick would your acrylic windows be ?
Small electric planer with tungsten carbide blades will flatten fibreglass. Finish with belt sander–both tools will take dust control systems hoses, a grinder will not. Outside a vessel I used compressed air driven tools and spray the area with water as I go. No dust problems.
I love Joyce!! … Stay Safe & Fair Winds!!
When do you anticipate finishing? I vaguely remember you thinking it would take two years when you started but that seems to have been wishful thinking.😉
Ok thank god joyce can have nice hair during the apocalypse
Im guessing you are going through a truckload of blades for the flush cut saw. I know I use alot working with wood. Hopefully you have found a way to purchase them at a reasonable price.
Regarding fairing; Andy at Boat Works Today channel just did a “fairing” video that looks like it was made for you Jessica
I think the spray sock is a fashion statement.
Wow that’s a fabulous type of blessing,I’ve never heard of that
Safety glasses Lady!!!
U need a shave❤❤❤❤❤
MJ ……You probably already know this but don't use any ammonia products on acrylic glass or tint films. I recommend just using water with a touch of Dawn and a squeegee, followed by a fiber towel to finish the cleaning! By the way, some window films actually protect the interior from fading due to UV from the sun!
Just blows my mind you two built this boat without full face respirator. You two are going to be blind when your 60.
is trixie single? she is super hot!
I've just used polycarbonate for windows replacement, apparently tougher but scratch prone…
Matt & Jess – Ignore the critics. You guys rock! Thanks for the fun video.
Dear God, Joyce and Trashy Tucker are going to have to re-populate the earth! The world has a dystopian future. Mind you, that Trixie is pretty damned hot…
You look beautiful without makeup. Amazing team work
You could by entivibrating glove
I'm a bit anxious (not as much as you probably are) to see the finished product! What will be the masts and sail configuration? Any idea (guess-timate) of speed you'll be making?
Stop looking at the camera, those eyes are bewitching me!😂😂😂
Such a wonderful job with the vids, well done!
Awesome video and another step closer. I am curious as to why you didn't use your router with a flush cut blade, it would have come out with a smooth edge and way less fairing and sanding if any.
Nice ceremony for the start of the fishing season.
They say assembling IKEA furniture is the ultimate relationship test, but what you are doing is on a whole different level… Keep on going. The future looks bright! Dan and Kika are rebuilding/redesigning Uma too. I admire all of you to go through this and honestly can’t wait for your new adventures in your new home!
"I don't want ratty hair when I am doint it" That is class right there, yes indeed. Be happy, be safe
A women that knows her way around power tools adds 1.5 points to her attractiveness score. Vibrating hands, priceless.
those windows are going to be very nice!
I'm a bit late in catching up with this weeks progress and right from the start dissapointed😔not with your work, rather with the fact that I now cannot watch your videos ad free as I can no longer share to my adblock. The adblock only blocked extra ads put in on utube , not your sponsor ads that you do yourselves in the videos. Considering my options now 😕
Is that Mr. Brady and Susan’s Everglade in the background absolutely gorgeous boat
Does this guy get paid by the word ?
Can’t take it anymore …
That's what she said.
I'm loving the "lectirc" Solar commercials ! All good. Thanks for the update ‼
Udah lama aku ngikuti ni channel
The windows look amazing.
