I was there. I do not feel as if we were "caught" in the storm. I think we were barreled directly into it. We were told that we were going into rough seas…so they already knew. There was no reason that I can think of, other than loss of the cruise lines money, that we couldn't have waited in a holding pattern in calmer waters.

if the captain had told you all that information, would that have made any difference to the situation. ? when a plane gets into some type of disaster do they get on the intercome and tell you detail by detail of whats happening, other than a vague description of a problem and that they are trying their best to take care of it and land ? If they told you detail for detail, what good would that do them and if things go south, other than panic and become a liability, what would these geniuses have done ..? The captain did what every leader is trained to do and give out as little information as possible and focus on the issue because most people are stupid and will make the situation worse if they are informed of a disaster. That is leadership 1 0 1, give vague information to a group and focus on the problem …
