Regarding adding the PVC pipe to protect the Genoa line from chaffing… Is this design problem common on sailboats?

What a helpless feeling. You can use some wedges and Blocks of wood to realign the motor mounts. A fabrication shop may be cheaper than new mounts. I'm adding feeler guages to my tool list. I prefer Stella.
