The thing about sailing is to balance the time between sailing (the enjoyable bit) and maintenance (keeping the boat going)! Maybe you should try and do some sailing with friends etc to keep you motivated? Was wondering about filling those holes and gaps: do you not need to drill small holes sideways and put say wooden pins in to join the new and old, or am i over engineering it? Just a though.

how many layers can be laminated in one go or should it be allowed to dry in between layers?
