Sorry I forgot to mention that the Aircraft product of Aluminium & Cadmium combined is called Alclad. If you think of all the coast line Airports in the world most International are. Then Alclad has to stand up to salt water.

Guys if you have any doubts about Aluminium, I need to ask a question. Why don't they make aircraft out of glass or steel. Some Aircraft even today have wooden framing but never used in commercial airlines.
Pure Ali is never used either. To soft. So it's always a composite. In aircraft they add cadmium to the ali. So armed with that you can find out what it is that makes the material they use a marine grade product. Hope this helps.

Of course there is a ton of other factors but im guessing aluminum's largest sailing drawback over glass and carbon is is weight? im sure there are things like shape, keel type also affects speed and sailing characteristics but how much speed are you realistically giving up for a like for like price? Its still a good sized cat not a monohull.

That’s utmost importance. The mutton chops look great! It’s interesting that Gone with the Wynns were talking to their boat builder in their most recent episode about the importance of knowing location/accessibility of all systems on their new boat. They also loved the safety line around the perimeter as it is quite high but you could be extra safe with the rogue wave washing over the boat with chest high lifelines, deep coaming plus the redundancy of high lifelines.
