The Slow Boat just hauled out at Medana Bay Marina. Sailing is a small world. There are really only a limited number of ports worldwide.
Okay, so Riley needs to do a diagram of what you guys did through that harbor. I have no doubt it was difficult & dangerous, and no doubt you did a fantastic job doing it, but… I’m not embarrassed to admit that I also have NO clue what you actually did‼️🤣 It would be awesome if you’re able to do one of your cartoon type explanations, or even a napkin drawing… I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting to see exactly how amazing it was that you two did what you did. Two experienced sailors who were obviously very serious and careful of what they were doing, tells me it was NOT an easy task.

If you are on the east coast of England, you should try to get a trip out on a Fishing Smack. They are all well over a hundred years old with beautiful lines and a very powerful gaff rig. Originally used to dredge for oysters they are now raced and cruised around the Essex, Suffolk and Kent coast.
I'm sure we could also arrange a sail in a duck punt.

Same thing happened to us. Old bronze shaft spinning in the transmission coupling. Our only real problem was lack of wind, resulting in coming on to the mooring on a moonless midnight at about .001 knots. Thinking the prop isn't quite aligned with the coupling, which can wear out the sketchy connection between shaft and transmission. Maybe our boat's more weatherly, but it points into the wind in most conditions if mainsail even partially up and one lets go of the tiller. I guess that one doesn't.
Come to Maine if you like looking at gorgeous boats of wood, composite, other. One starts to forget function.
