Sail changes and boat repairs – sounds like a passage to me. On the bright side, you are sailing and not motoring your fuel away. The autopilot issue has to be deflating. Hand steering for hours is not an easy shift. Great attitude to just deal with it.

Re difficulty of getting go pro in water underway…. Dumb idea I just had: bodgy up a piece of sailtrack with a slider mount for GoPro. Then mount two sets of V shaped arms either end of track to fit the leading edge of bow. Rubber or rope bound around the V’s so that they don’t mark the bows. Long handle, or rope on end of the track to enable placement underwater while underway. The steady mount and pitching movement of bow should make riveting video when there is life around. Could be tricky to put in water and recover but that will depend on the actual bodging. Feel free to ignore me…. my long-suffering wife generally does. 🙂 Thanks for sharing the journey with us all.

Root vegetables.
My Dad used to use a root cellar. Damp sand was poured over the spuds and carrots etc. How would a large cooler work on board? Sand covered veggies and replenish a block of ice within it to keep them "cool" in the tropics.
