BINE ATI VENIT!!! La acest tur complet cu barca a unui frumos S2 35C din 1987. „Freda Kai” este o barcă cu pânze monococă montată în carlingă centrală. Are o pescaj de 6′, 50′ de aer, 12’6″ și un motor Volvo de 29 CP. Navighează la o viteză medie de 5,9 noduri. În timp ce are 720 W de panouri solare, își produce cu ușurință toată energia electrică. S/V Freda Kai a navigat singur și cu echipaj de către bunul meu prieten, mentorul și prietenul meu, Jay Safro. Această barcă a fost casa lui în ultimii opt ani și peste 12.000 nm. Din această barcă, lui Jay îi place să exploreze și să meargă în aventuri oriunde stă ancora în Caraibe.   7. It’s a nice boat and I’m sure it’s very well maintained but the hull being cored below the waterline is a dealbreaker for me. Even if they were plentifully available, when I list my criteria for what I HAVE to have in a boat, a solid FG hull is near the top of the list.

  19. i prefer boats with comfort ratio of above 30 at least. capsize ratio is doable below 2.0, not a bad looking boat though.

  29. I've heard of some nightmare scenarios in sailing where people collide with sperm whales while they are basking or sleeping, and lost in floating containers from container ships at night. Have you guys ever done that or come close to colliding with anything along the way?

  33. When using lfp you use 100 % of your battery and it will outlive most of your boat. Also you can use it upside down or at any angle.

  38. If you go Lithium, be sure it's LiFePo4. The others can burn up, taking your boat with it. I decided, on my Hunter 34, to stick with lead-acid, move them closer to the centerline, just behind the motor (better balance to keep it upright. I have the shallow draft version), with anti-sulphators on each one (the potted kind, that only desuphate, when the battery is being charged.

  39. My Hunter 34 (34.5 feet long, almost 12 feet wide), has a port side aft-ish cabin, at the bottom of the companionway. It's what sold me on the boat. That cabin extends under the cockpit, for part of the berth. Ends, in front on an aft exterior locker. I'll be relocating a drain pipe, that sticks down 3 inches, just above the berth (it drains a shallow locker, that's over part of the berth area.

  40. I recommend, that you be prepared, for going south of the Equator. It's only warming half as fast, as the North. I expect lots of unrest, up North, when this Spring's crops come in, very very very short. I'm looking at the Rio Grand–the one in southern Argentina.

  41. When you collect rainwater, is it treated or filtered afterward? Or is it pretty safe to drink as-is?
