Lasik was 100% the best thing I have ever paid for. Highly, highly recommend. It will take about 24hrs until it stops itching/hurting but keep your eyes moist and protected it will help. Do it you won’t regret it!

I assume someone has suggested already, but just in case, an alternative to your jerry rigged vang, you can use a preventer to take the place of your broken vang. Rig a line from your top main sheet block down to your toe rail (or a pad eye near the toe rail). This has the added benefit of preventing an accidental crash jibe. A preventer is doubly valuable when you are sailing dead down and wing-on-wing.

I loved Brett’s expression when he looked at the gooseneck where boom connects and noticed the asymmetrical gap. And realized, yeah that’s a problem but there is sweet nothing I can do about it here, and quickly changed the subject.
