Ahh the cape Canaveral lock. It was my first step as a brand new captain in my sailing journey. I kept my boat at Merritt Island for the first few months when I first bought her. This video brings back some great memories of that area. The rocket launches are pretty amazing to watch, and the visit to the space center really is amazing. It brings a great perspective. The ICW is full of derelict boats,wrecks, and under equipped ground tackle vessels that drag. Especially during those crazy lines of storms in Florida that bring 50 knots winds out of nowhere. They blow though fast, but it really can be a sporty 30 minute rodeo, on what is otherwise a clear calm blue sky day. Watch your depth on the bannanna river! Cheers!
