  2. Another great video guys, as to bush tucker, mud anything except crabs, sure you can eat them but you would need to be starving first, especially when you have spanish in the fridge or freezer.

  3. 19:37 my favourite recipe for them fish bite, is definitely beer battered, 1/2 plain flour 1/2 self raising and add an ice cold beer,
And a touch of salt and curry powder maybe a teaspoon (mainly for colour) I know cooking oil is at a premium at sea so the smallest pan you have and deep fly as much as possible, But before you throw that batter out, throw some can pineapple rings into it and cook the same until golden brown, even a banana close to it’s used by date, skin it flatten it and batter that too.. tastes great every time, I like sweet chilli sauce with my pineapple, the fish just salt, but you can even do beer battered potato scallops, just boil the potatoes first, because they are not going to be in the oil long.. unfortunately you will have to discard the old cooking oil, but if you slick it off your stern, (won’t harm the environment) it will start a feeding frenzy especially where you are, and you will catch a replacement fish, probably a big GT, but keep throwing them back until you tag something better..

  4. Directions
Special equipment: Thin wooden skewers or sturdy toothpicks
To clean and cook sea snails: Boil the snails for approximately 20 minutes in a pot of water. This will remove the sand and grit trapped inside the shell and cook the snail meat.

  5. You crazy kids!
Great work, and many thanks for taking us all through the mind-blowing Kimberly!
Especially appreciate the archeological explorations that provide empirical evidence humans were seafaring long before we've all been lead to believe. 😏

Keep up the great adventure and content.

Much ❤ and respect from Central Texas, USA.

    #Godspeed
    ✌️❤️🚀🤠

  6. Our favourite part of the week to sit down with a coffee and watch your videos on a Sunday. They never disappoint and are honestly only getting better. Keep it up legends!

  7. I'm seriously envious of the yummy looking food you eat, 'till it runs out I guess. Do you enjoy baked beans and rice? I love it.with a bit of bacon.

  8. Absolutely loved watching this one guy's! That rock art is amazing what a beautiful place to be!! Frothing on watching your next adventures guy's!!! Enjoy and safe travels 👍

  9. Guys, I really really love that you upload in 4k…I know this must be quite the challenge operating remotely, and from Nakama…But the locations you are visiting around our home country deserve every pixel. Thankyou, when I am in a position to be able to contribute, I will join you on patron.

  10. 😎👍👍👍❤ Hello again from Seattle, WA. (North West USA). Thank you both for another great video. You two are multi-talented and please keep posting.

  11. … hope it is not a let down for you when you leave that area ….. pretty good water pressure on that hose to fill the water containers ….. have never caught snails, cooked and served .. just googled prepping snails to cook and got this, "Fast the snails for a week, then purge them by feeding them salt mixed with flour and a dash of white wine vinegar. Wash them carefully and blanch in boiling salted water for 5 minutes." so not a quick prep as a shrimp then …. seem like a lot of work for the wee morsel one gets …. thing I think I enjoy most about laundry, is the first time you enjoy sheets fresh from the laundry when tucking in for the night ….. thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ….

  12. Mud Welks are boiled in heavily salted water for 20 minutes As in a roaring boil. You can also sautee them. Cook them in coconut juice, or roast them over a fire.

Now the reason they still had all the mud in them is you didn't do the prep before cooking them you are supposed to brush th like you did. Then rinse in fresh water.

Then they go in room temp Brine like really strong salt water/brine for at least a half hour. then some people do a short vinegar bath. I like malt vinegar like for fish n chips but this is more a flavor thing and ahould be short.

After that fresh water rinse them followed up with a 20-30 minute boil depending on size, and if you intend to juice or suace boil finish them or not.

There is a lot of mixed info from as short as a few minutes to as long as an hour. I have found that the sweet spot for tenderness is right around 25-30 minutes for medium large to large mud welks. If you over cook them they turn into tiny rubber pucks. I think you already found out what happens when they are under cooked.

They can also be finished off by roasting over a fire, sauteeing them, or i've had them done in coconut juice that was good, and the Vietnamese Coca-Cola shrimp boil is pretty good with the snails too.

If you do want to try doing something like the Coconut Juice or the Coca-Cola Boil Finish, you pull them early at 20 minutes drain them in a collander or siv then cold crash them in ice water. Rinse throughly, then add them to your boiling sauce of choice to finish off for their remaining time. I have never tried it but I bet some Pinapple juice added to the coconut juice would be really good and so would some lime juice. Because as we all know "you put de lime in de coconut and you drink em bot up, 😂".

  13. They need to be “purged” over night and it gets all the mud and grit out of them. Siri can tell you how but, it makes Shrimp & other Shellfish much better. I’ve had escargot and I love it but I’m not sure what’s done to it before we buy it, those looked like Escargot to me and they are great with Garlic Butter and hard bread! You guys are so much fun and down to earth, you seem like you really do enjoy life and particularly your life…….

  14. Such an enjoyable episode
    Outstanding Rock Art
Thank you so much for sharing a spectacular part of our country
& yes i'd agree, the welks didn't look appetizing. Do try again, they are nice when done right
    Cheers
    🙏👍

  15. Another awesome one guys! Those fish tacos look unreal. Would love a collection of your fish recipes or even just pics for inspiration (Instagram highlight?) as a fellow liveaboard that is optimistic about catching fish once I get out of the med 😅 perhaps once uni let's out

  16. I don't have Siri. My Android says, "When I get these little critters home, I pop them in a bucket or the sink and fill it with water. I then add roughly 3.5% of salt (this is the strength of sea water) and let them purge for a couple of hours. I place the whelk in a large pot, add 1 quart of water and cover. Over high heat, bring the pot to a boil and keep boiling for 10 minutes. The salivary glands of whelks may contain a poisonous matter called tetramine (salivary gland poison). Ingestion of whelks without removing the salivary glands may cause symptoms such as headache, dizziness, and feeling of seasickness appearing approximately 30 minutes to one hour after ingestion." 🤢 It's probably a good idea you didn't eat them. 🤷‍♂️

  17. Here in America we have freshwater muscles in the streams and rivers to clean the mud out of the muscles take a bucket put some cornmeal and water in it bury the muscles in the cornmeal and let it sit in the shade for 24 hours the muscles clean themselves out with the corn meal no guarantees it'll work with thsos guys but maybe worth a try

  18. As a potter, I love seeing your tableware. As a sailor, I love seeing your adventures. As a woman, I disagree with the above comment: I don't need to see anymore butt cheeks. And overall, you are becoming my favorite cruisers. My husband and I traveled to AU and NZ for our 25th anniversary. We dove on the Very Good Barrier Reef, motored on the Murray, hung out in Pahia, NZ for several days because it was so laid back, and walked the docks in Opua for our boat-fix. Stay safe. Your enthusiasm tops the charts.
