As a potter, I love seeing your tableware. As a sailor, I love seeing your adventures. As a woman, I disagree with the above comment: I don't need to see anymore butt cheeks. And overall, you are becoming my favorite cruisers. My husband and I traveled to AU and NZ for our 25th anniversary. We dove on the Very Good Barrier Reef, motored on the Murray, hung out in Pahia, NZ for several days because it was so laid back, and walked the docks in Opua for our boat-fix. Stay safe. Here in America we have freshwater muscles in the streams and rivers to clean the mud out of the muscles take a bucket put some cornmeal and water in it bury the muscles in the cornmeal and let it sit in the shade for 24 hours the muscles clean themselves out with the corn meal no guarantees it'll work with thsos guys but maybe worth a try

I don't have Siri. My Android says, "When I get these little critters home, I pop them in a bucket or the sink and fill it with water. I then add roughly 3.5% of salt (this is the strength of sea water) and let them purge for a couple of hours. I place the whelk in a large pot, add 1 quart of water and cover. Over high heat, bring the pot to a boil and keep boiling for 10 minutes.The salivary glands of whelks may contain a poisonous matter called tetramine (salivary gland poison). Ingestion of whelks without removing the salivary glands may cause symptoms such as headache, dizziness, and feeling of seasickness appearing approximately 30 minutes to one hour after ingestion." It's probably a good idea you didn't eat them.
