Дружище, у меня дом с участком и 2 квартиры в Петербурге. Налоги на всё составляют около 50$ в год. Я уже молчу о коммунальных платежах, которые в разы ниже америкснских и европейских. Я могу вообще не работать, а просто сдавать квартиры. При этом у большинства россиян свое собственное жилье. Нам не надо зарабатывать 3000$, чтобы нормально жить.

I should mention one point about the subway. The beauty in the subway, which is shown to the whole world, was built in the Soviet Union. Modern metro stations: 1) they either lie not deep underground, or stand on the surface of the earth, 2) they are made of much cheaper materials and in a minimalist style. The skills of building old stations were lost. It is difficult to maintain them now, because maintenance is expensive, and there are very few modern craftsmen who can restore such complex architectural objects.
