Great episode Nat! Looking forward to the long term results of the teak oil. I put brand new grab rails on my boat and I put 3 coats of West System epoxy (105 & 207) on them. Next comes about 8 coats of varnish with UV protection to save the epoxy. I am a bit worried that the epoxy sealed the wood so well that they can expand and contract with the seasons. The oil is probably a better way to go. I think I need to hire you to do my bright work, your skills are off the hook!

Have you considered "Total Boat Danish Teak Wood Sealer"? I am thinking that this would be much better than maintaining varnish and better than just letting teak weather.

Kinda looked like Napps Narows to me. (Just above Tilghman Creek where I learned to sail (from)
