You can glass small brackets onto the beam with you can then screw or bolt on 😊
Just small pro tip. When you do remove silicon/Sika Flex you have to spray it with water before removing. It prevents Silicon to stick on places you dont want to. 😉
Your father like me .
Do the job right first time .
I'm 66 and still learning ( electrician)
I have had sailing boats and enjoyed rough weather sailing .
I still think your port holes (side windows)
Need stainless coach bolts M8 x6 on each window.
About £20 in all and a little bit of resin in holes before bolts .
Peace of mind.
Looking great the engine mounts look great,
I hope we have an opportunity to assist our children in following the living their dreams – well done Mum & Dad..!
Just thinking mate you could turn your new outboard pods into quick release escape pods😅
Re Engine mounting. I think that you should look at "The Cornish Crabber" design of through hull mounting.
You’re doing a great job well done. A couple of pointers, the engine boxes and mechanics have already been discussed which are really important. The other is the hatch openings, in wetter climates they would be opening up from the rear, this would keep the rain and waves away from below, in hotter climates they tend to open from the front, this helps duct the airflow down into the hull to give the best cooling. Keep going and can’t wait to see you sailing.
Your dad is special, and your mum just keeps on pottering and getting through massive amounts of jobs, but I do think that you should pust some tubular bushing in the stainless engine mounts, because every time pressure is put on them when the motor is moving and under power the tubes will squeeze in and you'll tighten them up and it carries on until the tubes are flat loosing the tubes integrity . This is best done by finding some ss round tube , drilling hole over size to accommodate the round tube them welding them on to square box. This will be rock solid however tight you you have the bolts. Good luck , can't wait to see your proper maiden voyage . FOGGY
Every 2nd hand outboard I’ve purchased has been a “dog” and by the time you buy all the service kits and your time it’s not really worth it, Last time I said never again. Save yourself the bother and buy new 👍
Definitely go new as hard as it is price wise.
2nd hand there is always something and what you save you will spend later.
Always nice seeing your mum on your channel, she adds the Glam 👌
Your mom and Dad is very nice person, you are very lucky❤
GUY, YOU ARE A VERY LUCKY MAN, YOU HAVE PARENTS THAT MANY OTHERS CAN DREAM OF, YOUR FATHER WORKED ON THAT OTHER YACHT NOW ON THIS ONE, PARENTS RARELY DO THAT, MAYBE THERE ARE BUT VERY RARELY THEY ARE THAT GOOD, BUT YOU ARE AN ONLY SON❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🤍💯
you should grind flats on your drill bits so they dont slip in the chuck like that
Mark, you should invite Kiana Weltzien @kianaweltzien4469 on your channel for an interview, as she sailed a Wharram Solo across the Atlantic
Boat is looking good Mark.
Ay i suggest that for your engine components to be feeted for the engine on the BEAM, use the mounting technique: nut and counter-nut as the nut do not unscrew due to vibration. 🤨🤔😉🙂
Oh do not forget to add a water-drain on each side on each ""Box".😉
Bon courage and stay safe.👍👍👍👍👍
Put the motor tubs on hydraulic so you can pick them up out of the water when you're not useing them
I would build a cabin on top of the deck
There dealers selling used Yamaha engines You will have a 1 year guarantee. And the price is lower
9.9 is very good – i used one on my Iroquois' and it was great except for the carb getting clogged with bad gas.
Bonza gang, I can never get over how much a coat of paint lifts a cabin, room, house etc, your shirts are pretty groovy, quite Pacific in design, xmas gets closer👍
Do yourself a favour and save up for new engines the Yamaha 9.9 is bulet proof. I had one centre mounted on my cat a 9meter GBE for 15 years and it never let me down once. Run them with a quality water trap and fuel filter system and you'll have no problems. Enjoyed see your mum and dad keep up the good work.
I would look at the Tohatsu engines as well. They are apparently reliable and should cost less.
Get the Tohatsu 20hp instead. Same weight, better fuel efficiency. Lots of boats with the Yamaha 9.9s are upgrading to those.
Nice video
Be aware ´´marktplaats´´ vendors, a lot of them are scammers. You have also e-bay in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Always so nice to see your parents. They are amazing. New engines is the way to go. In my opinion. Awesome work.
Hey mate
I guess you're not going to import into the UK? Be careful as to import it means giving the tax man a leg up…. but I'm sure you know that
Cheers pal
Your parents are so supportive! Congrats the boat is taking shape!
