Remember that cables are electric components. They consume power. Not so much the signal cables. Either there is a signal or not but the cables that supply power to the motor, the freezer and generally the equipment that draws lot of power should be as thick and short as possible.

at 25:04 you mention when the batteries would got out and kill ALL power. I'm curious if you could hook the shore power plug of the boat into that for backup power in an emergency situation and get enough power for radios and nav lights.

The fact that you entertained me for 39 minutes, and I know less than nothing about this subject, is a testament to your talent!!! I have connected an inverter to my truck battery to plug in a coffee maker and an air mattress pump. That's it, that's all I know about this. I can not sleep on the ground and have coffee in the woods!!! Love you guys!

23:41 good less regulation is a good thing. So many industries are choking on regulation. I just got some goverment monkeys of my back trust me dont wish that on any of us. You probably wouldnt be able to do what you did had it been there.

Dan, look for a spray can of "T19", If you can find it it helps to coat electronics and protect against corrosion and full on water submersion.
