În videoclipul acestei săptămâni, mă întorc la barca din Trinidad și instalez o nouă carenă și o mână de senzori Ruuvi care ne vor permite să înregistrăm temperatura fără fir în cutia noastră Victron Energy Cerbo. Have you ever thought about using "Home assistant" for all the control stuff that is not essential for survival on a boat? Home assistant has a great build in energy dashboard and your can also use any modern protocol like zigbee, matter, bluethooth le, to integreat other devices. With ESPhome you would have a lightweight platform to built your own special devices, with your IT background. 😊
Hi Mads – just curious, which model of the Pepwave did you pick and why? I am thinking of getting one for my 37' sailboat. Keep up the great DIY videos!
Cool, we have Ruuvi sensors too! We too discovered the need for a USB dongle thingie to connect to Cerbo…
Hej Mads – you probably allready know, but you can control the relays in the cerbo with the ruuvi tags so you can use them to turn on a fan or similar. I use that feature in my boat to control the diesel heater and that works perfectly
Also using the Cerbo GX, great stuff, but the display is a bit basic. I have moved to Grafana running on a Raspberry Pi and made up my own dashboard, way more data displayed including the Ruuvi temperature trends.
There are youtube how to videos and the Victron community forum has soem instructions on how to set this up.
It is always a blast when we have DYI with Mads…lol
Ok, at 10:15, what sorcery was applied that the generous dollop of epoxy didn't seal the skin fitting in place??
Nah I don’t think I’ll bother with those temp sensors….
Such a marvelous episode, we love our rubi censor's!
Is 3M's 4200 equivalent to Sikaflex 291?
How came you are no longer installing the other type of thru hull “Marelon-type composite valves “ ?
You always have the coolest electronics!
Absolutely love your videos
So informative
Mads – as a cook, I really wouldn't varnish the island top – would it not be better if you oiled it It is always going to take a beating and will be as durable with a good linseed oil coating.
One critical question Mads: do you know where I can get a Rød pølse in the U.S. or online delivery to the U.S.??? It is my favorite whenever I visit my family in Denmark and I greatly miss them here.
Unstable bluetooth connection will tend to introduce a big current draw as the device will try to reconnect over and over again.
Hey Mads, I met you very briefly in the chandlery at Peakes a week or so ago. We have left Trini and are now in Grenada. One question I have is what Starlink 12v kit did you order? I want to do the same and I know you would have done all the research. Hope we can catch up again in the future. Regards Andrew on SV Calypso
Hey Mads – you guys need the Catan ‘Seafarers Expansion’!
Fischer Panda = boat anchor!!
