Thank you for screen shot of the B&G info. Great screen. It has quite a lot.
I was sailing a Rapido 40 last Friday and we could not get the same B&G instrument working right , the rotating mast messed up the ‘aws , tws so I could not sail on the instruments!
Have you heard if having the props turning under power distracts the Orca?

Holly – Stefan is being typically male – keep giving him attitude about wearing a lifejacket. Because we mostly sailed as a couple our rule on our 42 foot catamaran when we left harbour was as soon as you leave the cabin you wear a lifejacket and if you leave the cockpit you wear a safety harness and you clip it on. Day and night. I notice most cruisers are reluctant to follow these sorts of rules but it is a waste of money having these items onboard if you only use them when you think its going to be rough outside.

My preference is to stay onboard.

I vote yes to pfd on deck. For what it's worth:)
I vote no to orca as Jean Marc calls it "encounters".
I vote Holly for "way to go award" with the "up to no good" close encounter with the dingy/skiff. No doubt that was sketch city.
I vote more cookies for Stephane! We love the smile he can't avoid when sweets tooth kicks in:)

Stephane. Safety is a habit. You should wear the PFD on deck every time so you get to point where you don’t even think about it, you just put it on. I know you’re confident in your ability but it’s the freakish occurrences that you prepare for. Imagine trying to float in the water as the boat sails into the distance at 10 knots and nobody knows you’ve fallen overboard and death is a probability. If you’re still not convinced, do it for Holly. Give her peace of mind. She wants you to wear the life jacket because she cares about you.
