I've heard that removing the labels on tin cans is a prudent thing to do – roaches and other insects lay eggs under them…. use sharpie to identify food in can….. duuuuhhhh!!!

The aggressive dog my have been feeding pups. Were they stainless rivits on stainless plate into an aluminum mast?
Remove all labels from cans prior to bringing on the boat. If you refill bags then put in some nitrogen prior to sealing.
