Sorry for the bad audio in the early parts, think it gets better later on 👍👍
Hey friend, I hate to tell you this, but your engine mounting system is not sufficient. You need some serious engineering on mounting and setting up the system. You really need an engineer. You need heavy duty fixtures for mounting your engines and steering system. I'm nit even sure if your outboards will work. You might need long😅shaft outboards. I really hope you will contact someone with engineering experience because you will just waste money. I'm a structural engineer just giving you some good advice. Good luck.
If you place a short piece of heavy wall pvc pipe inside the stainless it will help keeping it from crushing in.
You were right about this posting. VERY BORING, but you got stuff done, so good on ya sir! Keep up the great work.
This is good mate sorry I wasn’t awake but if you are now definitely keep doing the lives it’s really cool to see what ure up to in real time👍
40c over in western australia today! Believe me, I envy yr cold weather!
Brilliant idea for an episode 🤙
EVEN IN THE COLD YOU ;PRESS ON . GOOD JOB
Gday mate
what a dumb idea. Couldn't watch anymore. Please don't do this again.
Thanks for the live feed. Yep the wind was noisy. Time for a microphone sock. Looking forward to stepping the mast.
Greetings from Vung Tau Vietnam have been watching your adventures for the last 3 years all the best for the future .Never give uP.,Cheers Jack M
Mark get yourself a lavalier mic with a dead cat – it eliminates wind noise.
Who shall have a fishy, when the boat comes in…… 😊
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Boring through the metal good one anyway love watching paint dry but on a more serious note won't those engine boxes get slapped by the swell seems alot of added stress to beams !
You get one of those pull drill stands not expensive
What are your expectations from your motor drive? I can’t see it being of much use in heavy weather.
Hi MRk , a it noisy 😅
Mark you need to very carefully clean out the dinghy. I would be very surprised if it doesn’t have a significant no of sharp stainless steel shards from your drilling.
Hello there, why don't you do a pice of wood like the onde you did fot the top side of the thing that Will hold the outboards boxes? I believe should be easiar then weld and h with your dad. All the best for you thank you for shareing
Hi Mark, you’ve probably thought of this already but what about getting a cheap gazebo (or even two) to keep your work area dry, on Amazon- I’ve seen some for about £40. You could lash them to the deck to keep them flying away.
Have you checked out the warram infront, to get ideas. Engine sleds in oarticular
Can’t you find an empty barn to work in?
You know all you need is a Cobalt drill bit to drill through Stainless Steel easily.
Hi Mark, I wonder if it is possible for you to do some work on shore ( like the drilly things), maybe this will provide more stable video, and less things to drop in the water.
Get yourself a magnet on a rope for magnet fishing your dropped items.
Omg, why do I keep waiting for your full body weight on the drill and you smacking your head
First, thanks for the videos, they are interesting. Next. as I watch the engine pods go in. I see that you're using a steel (SS?) cable so they don't drop down too far. Good. Are they designed to float up as waves hit? Will the cables handle the stresses of the pods dropping down after the wave passes?
Of concern, is that you are pushing a boat that weights multiple tons, by putting the "load" on 2 bolts per engine pod, which are only the size of your finger. Since you are planning to go around the world, you need to design for heavy seas. I am not so sure your wooden pods would survive heavy seas where you need the engines to keep you turned into the waves. Relying on a sea-anchor/drogue chute to keep you straight doesn't always work.
… One option/upgrade….. weld plates on the square tubing the pods bolt to, so a more substantial bolt can be used (25mm/1 inch?). And, on the pods, Stainless steel plates for the larger bolt to go through, added to each side of the pod to spread the load over more surface of the pod. I would also think about taking a SS square tube from the down tubes holding the pod, to the beam aft of them, to spread the "push" to more than one beam, might be a good idea (less twisting of the beam from the "pushing", so less rubbing on the pockets, and less future rot).
To hell with the chickens get your self a women better then an electric blanket!!
Mark, I hope you can take some well meant criticism. Initially I was going to moan that this was an especially dull episode but then looking closely at your demeanour I can see you’re struggling. Struggling and putting a brave face on it. Being on your own with endless tasks in a miserable location with grotty weather to boot. That is very hard on one so young with such aspirations and reputation to maintain. Could I respectfully suggest… 1. You take a well earned break in a warm hotel. 2. Don’t worry over pushing videos until they’re ready, and 3. Get yourself a companion. Life alone is tough… you’re intelligent, resourceful, kind and masculine. There must be a plethora of young ladies out there… so an appeal on Mark’s behalf… call him and get an adventure!
This year ? you better get crackin bro, or just relax haste makes waste youngin. Its nice to have a little vice in your life LOL👩🐒
Are the sled frames facing the wrong way? The hinge bolts look like the sled will be lowered facing forward rather than protecting the engines. Using the live stream to communicate the plan, (i.e. between which beams the sleds and pod will sit and how the sleds will work) would be great.
Thanks
Are wrag fish good eating, ha ha ha . Just kidding. Like the live video because it shows how hard the work can be , don't fret the little mistakes everyone makes them , have fun and enjoy the process the rewards are daily accomplishments.
Great video must be very hard working on the boat in that weather once the motors are going move it too better weather and you will feel so much better love your channel ❤
