Both octopuses and octopi are acceptable plurals for octopus. Of the two, octopuses is the simpler and more commonly used.

Those empty seats around the table could be filled with Sierra’s siblings by now. I’m sure Brian would be immensely proud of them in time. So sad she hasn’t got their company let alone school friends. I had a sister at 14 months and a brother just before I was three. Today we’ve been chatting on WhatsApp even though we’re all hundreds of miles apart.
