Also be careful, should you get a bite from a cat you will need antibiotics right away, especially if it’s in a joint. The teeth are like little needles so you basically get an injection of bacteria. There are medications you can give them for fleas. You can use topicals or if you can’t touch them you can put generic capstar and generic program (lefenuron) in their food. You can do the same with worming medication. Thanks for caring

If you can, your best option with the cats would be to start a gofundme asking for help with spay neuter costs, vaccines, food, parasite treatment. Aside from that just keep getting them fixed and treat them as TNR as bad as that sounds. I live in a rural area in the US and have the same issue. Shelters in our county will not accept cats brought in by citizens and animal control won’t pick them up. People need to stop buying cats, exotics and hybrids as there is a small cat crisis in the US. I know you mentioned shelters all over in FL, but even those shelters are stretched. There simply aren’t enough people willing to adopt. There needs to be strong legislation in the US, anti breeding, spay neuter as much as I dislike government involvement. I’ve been doing rescue for 20 years, and in all those years it hasn’t gotten any better. I’ve transported 700 cats for spay and neuter myself and trapped well over a 140 for TNR. Raising money and getting as many as you can fixed will help somewhat but not in the big scheme of things as not everyone will do that. Cats are considered disposable and the poorer the country or area the worse it will be. Perhaps try putting up signs and cameras, but I doubt law enforcement would care if someone dumps a laundry basket or pillow case full of kittens. You could also try to start a social media page and raise money, but you would still be the ones doing all the work and it’s difficult, both physically and emotionally. There are wealthy Americans in Puerto Rico, perhaps you could get in touch with some of those who love cats to help with fundraising. . Thank you for caring..
