What a great sailing day! This reminds me of a passage completed in June, cruising aboard SV Pellew, a replica of the biggest pilot cutter built by Luke Powell. I was priveliged to be given the helm for the passage down from the Shiant Islands to the very same anchorage on Rona. That was an exciting narrow entrance to make in the 80 ton cutter with neglible wind, and Luke refuses to use the motor for manouvering. Next challenge was to put her alongside in Mallaig in similar conditions but with a CalMac ferry hard on my stern.

You had a good break with the weather. Off season for sure but meteorological winter starts December 1st and winter on the solstice.

not sure where you are heading and I assume you are a little ahead but sailing cadoha, bushpoint, and drake paragon are posting from the west coast of the Uk and Ireland to give idea or ask questions

Beautiful sail. West coast has some of the most exciting and beautiful sailing anywhere. Stunning. Make sure you do some inner Hebridean island hopping too. Don’t just stay in Oban then leave like Uma did.
