What about an old Military crank style telephone? Something like a TA-312. They generate a good shock but won't hurt anyone. I figure the shock charge would really freak out something in the water and as they have to get really close to attack your rudders some good copper wire with a big lead weight hanging off mid ship and dragging alongside should keep them away, I would think, just an idea from an old COMMO DOG. Be safe out there…
