Does that yacht have reverse? As a complete newb to piloting a large yacht like this, it would seem he should use his thrusters, and reverse to remove himself from the situation, and try again. No?‍

Wind is probably why the cruise ship needed to engage bow thrusters in that direction.
Just unfortunate timing I'd say.

I still can't understand on how a jet boat can maneuver so easy at low speeds but can't in this case.
