When i was sailing, this neighbor used to say: its a boat, it will leak. Only fish dont leak.
I hated him. He was right though.

Despite it looks like Outremer has an excellent customer service…Brand new boat but major rudder issue, then leaking hatch…what is next? Was not expecting that from an Outremer cat. Very disappointing for an over million $ boat!

Hi guys, it’s a bit of a disappointment that your boat is brand-new and windows Let you down glad you had the stuff to fix it up from leaking. Always good to carry a lot of spare stuff on the boat like anything. Plenty of tools plenty of screws, nuts and bolts heaps of silicon etc etc anyway Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you all. Once you had discovered the source of the water in the bilge I thought it would put you mind at rest. Couldn’t the bilge pump cope? I don’t think destroying a new hatch would have been my first reaction.

Absolutely, more on the heaving to. Catamarans never mention it, I thought maybe their hull shape prohibited the maneuver? It's such an awesome safety technique to use on monohulls.

Disappointing that the hatch let you down, but good that it was only that. Great to see that you can heave to…. any more info on that process would be great. Not many cats seem to do that, either because they can’t or because it’s no longer a common practice. Love to hear more about it. Thanks again for sharing all this…. we love waking up to a new briefing.

What an annoying leak, new and old alum hatches are always leaking it’s just a matter of when!
How in Love are you with that low window/portlight are you? Maybe it should just be blanked off forever!
Can I suggest a box of tongue depressors for mixing and applying adhesive etc also great for non destructive scraping and cleaning !
Also a roll of Butyl tape never goes bad and can seal almost anything!
Good job powering thru ! Adapt and overcome
