Apart from space, size, features ETC, I always look for range. There's a lot of choices available, but why do many of them have such pathetic range? I'd expect at least trans Atlantic capabilites.

feadship. as big as can be reasonably owner-operated by a skilled couple. but lets be honest – in most circumstances a yacht is not an investment. it is a depreciating asset. that being said it offers many other than financial returns.

I would add well and long established brands. There are a number of smaller companies that have been around for years or decades that make great production or one off boats.

I have gone frequently to both P&J's website and Dennison Yachts' website. In searching once I wanted to find listings they had, searching by manufacturer's name. The drop-down menu they offered had so many hundreds of names, that I was a bit overwhelmed. I will be a first-time yacht owner, so this video makes sense, though I will wait for next week's video before forming an opinion. I'm slightly familiar with a few of the bigger brands from watching YT videos and listening carefully. I understand that by choosing for example you can buy a 40-year-old Feadship at a reasonable price, I have also learned from you Dave that the older the vessel, the more you will pay in running costs such as upgrades, refits, and maintenance. It seems to me after viewing thousands of video's that the older the ship, the more you will probably spend to bring it into the 21st century. The biggest problem to me is that every time I see a yacht that I would love to buy, I visit the website just to see a notice that it is no longer available. A good broker I'm sure could get me passed this hurdle.

I haven't seen a yacht yet that I truly like. It bothers me how shitty the living situation for the crew is on every vessel I've seen. These people are top notch professional 5 to 7 star service providers caring for mega million dollar rich boy toys and they get treated like peasants and shoved into steerage. All that luxurious space, most of which doesn't actually get used it's just there to make the boat bigger for the cock measuring contest, yet the team is literally stacked on top of each other in broom closets.
