I have always been told that you should not crank your winches backwards and forwards, yet i see most sailors on Youtube do this. Can this action damage your winches? Awesome video by the way.

Great video and helps bring the dream back into reality… I have an aluminum boat and when close reaching or hauling the noise in the forward cabin is insane…. (I cheat though cuz I am deaf in one ear so I put the other one in the pillow). sounds like a bomb going off… but the reward is the safe arrival… I look forward to your next video… we're a year behind!
