Be careful Megan, When you are negative on the C***d test, you are only in the early stages of recovery. It will take several more weeks to recover to above 90%. Probably a month back to 100%. The significant alteration of taste (or lack thereof) is often much longer recovery since it is injury to the nerves to the taste buds which can take a couple of years to recover (guardedly, about 8% never recover completely to pre C levels. I had it about 2 years ago and have yet to get back all of my taste. I was a super taster and did a lot of wine tasting Pre C, and am only back to about 80% and only at moderate tasting levels. Just be patient). Sense of smell can also be altered to the same degree. About 12% have full recovery within 2 years. The good news overall for all C illness patients is that only about 5% have the loss of taste or smell. Sorry you aren't one of those. Just hang in there and odds are good for full recovery for you on the taste thing. It is still about a month for the weakness, Headaches, muscle soreness, and sore throat after the initial 2 weeks. You will need to slowly ramp up your exercises after the next 2 weeks of rest. Good luck and best wishes from Dr. Mike.

Couldn't help but notice the electric guitar… I'd be curious to hear about some of the challenges of keeping one aboard a boat as i've considered this a bit myself, but then again, people keep all kinds of sensitive equipment on board so I can't imagine it would be too bad other than going through a few corroded strings?
