The coldest water I've been in is about 50 F and I was only in it up to my knees. The pain in my legs was intense. I don't see how anyone can dive in that kind of water for any length of time, even with a wet suite on. Actually, I was standing in a river, so all of the heat from my legs were being immediately swept away… i suppose that made a difference.
