You will likely get some voids behind that steel shoe welded around the stern deadwood, especially where welding was done.. A suggestion for dealing with that is to drill and tap holes for grease nipples. Then, fill the gaps with a grease gun loaded with mastic, Sikaflex, or whatever. Water will get behind the steelwork, and maybe juvenile wood-chomping lifeforms that you are trying to avoid. This technique is similar to using a coach screw suitably drilled and fitted with a grease nipple. It facilitates injecting goop deep into wood joints etc.

Hi Ben & MP I can understand why you put the sacrificial board under the keel, but why then protect it with epoxy and paint? Who is going to train the worms to only eat the bit that has been put there just for them! ;) The place where the sacrificial board meets the bow looks unfinished, and the seam between the keel and first planks looks like it needs some work too? Not that I have a clue what I’m talking about of course! Not long now ;)
