Wheelbarrow sizes vary to much to give an estimate that isn't worthless. You'll need the capacity or size of your wheelbarrow or one just like it to do the calculations. I was guessing 7 from the looks of yours, but the all know internet says 9 to 14 loads per cubic foot. With more than a 50 percent discrepancy, that information is as worthless as teats on a boar hog. lol Too late now, but don't make your driveway pad level. I personally would make it a 1/4 to even a 1/2 bubble off level from the gate going down to the end of the pad or to the side to direct the water off the drive and to make sure there is no rub with the gate, if you have the gate that close to the pad's surface. Don't put the gate real close to the surface of the pad, you will almost certainly regret it over time.
That by the Road entrance is called an APRON, and if you take your pick axe back to Home Depot you will find out it is lifetime guaranteed.
Save the concrete for a path or sitting area with little table and chairs.
Good job Matt 👍 😎
You are very lucky there's no steel in thet concrete
Yeah, no experience, do it all yourself. A couple of dummies always admitting "no experience, but….". Suffer in silence. You went from interesting and somewhat wise to just plane stupid! I'm no longer subscribed nor interested anymore! Rots of ruck!!
I agree with the other comments. Don't start on top, you won't be able to get the truck on that pad even if it is 6" thick to do the rest of the work down the hill. Paying 10 or 20% for the pros is cheap! Concrete isn't cheap if you f it up. Watching videos and actually laying flat work are not the same.
I'm sure it's too late now but don't over float the pad. You get it flat first by screeding it. You float it once and then edge and trowel it smooth before you broom it. Why do people think they can do flat work….??? jes…
You work So Hard! Put Gloves on! Be Careful! You're doing Good Work!!!!
use them for a path 🙂
Split the driveway into 3 sections…concrete the 2 outside sections 6" deep, in the centre section lay plastic sheeting and cover with gravel.
Hey mate …4 inch is fine ….and love ya work guyes…use mesh
Iv done this before and dilled it with the crap from the concrete plant
Set ya blade 1 inch deeper thsn the cut ..with timber ect. if ya want tho …
Good morning beautiful lady
You should make the entrance at the road wider so when you turn into your driveway off the road your tries won't jump off the edge
Check out compacting a base for the concrete
Matt NOOOOOOO, within 10 yrs it will be river . The river WILL reclaim that land …
Please check out what im saying .
The answer to your quiz question is 4 to 6 construction size wheelbarrows make one cubic yard of cement.
Steel mesh or rebar and both are for the purpose of both strength and of if you do get a crack, it will not separate as it would if you didnt have the stucture in place.
😱😱 don’t do too much concrete work at once, you’ll burn out and hate it!!! 🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑
Home Depot should swap that pick for a new one if it is broken. I believe they took the old Craftsman guaranteed for life thing. I have swapped their broken tools at HD. Check and see of PR has the same.
A yard is a cubic yard of dirt… 3'x3'x3', or 27 cubic feet. I think you have several yards of dirt.
Skate park! yes, Yes, YES! You deserve it Matt, DO IT!
I would do that front pad them hold off on the rest. It will work nice for your gate and pullout on the road. From there down I would gravel it until your done building. it will be a great base and you won't be repairing messed up concrete. But if you wait until later you can improve your flat work skills as you get to the top.
looking good you two !!
Girl help that man! Pick up a shovel!!!
I love your videos. Your music makes me feel great! 😎🥰
From previous video: I know you mean well, but putting a collar especially a heavy one on your cat. Its put them at risk of hanging or succumbing to predator's.
6:16 – 7:12 LoL ,Tools GBU awesome couple working it out
D.I.Y Bother go surfing i say
u go boy,fine job
Hi Matt. I was wondering why you wanted to replace the concrete you broke up? Seemed like it was still in good shape?
There's a special bricks to make a nice driveway
Coming together well
Matt, I have about 4 acres of land that I work and I would recommend you get yourself a small utility tractor. It would save you sooo much work. If you could find a used one, you might be able to get one for maybe $5k. Something worth looking into. I have a John Deere 2305 with a front-end loader and multiple other attachments to work the land. New it might be too much, but if you could find a used one, it might be worth it.
We are in the exact same situation. We were quoted $14,000 for our property
