I can tell you've worked for a fair few unpleasant owners, the industry has plenty, you have to love travelling and yachts to put up with crazy working hours and have a cabin the size of a shoe box, anyway the video was good to listen to, personal experiences are always interesting

Its sad, pathetic actually, that people think they are sooo important (the Capt, hiring guy etc), that they'll take the opinion of some d-bag (guy from the management company) without talking with or researching the credibility, experience, and ethics of a potential new hire. I'm so glad to be self employed. I quit playing that 'dog and pony show' bs when I got out of the Army. Lifes too short for those bs games. Great vid, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for a very interesting podcast. A lot of what you talk about happens in all job disciplines to some degree. One just has to learn the hills they want to fight & die on & learn to walk away from the others that have little consequences. Experience is a great teacher.

In almost 35 years in the industry, I've never once had a reference. Never really had to deal with a gold-plated D-bag.
