  1. Welcome back guys, I was a little concerned about your absence because this is the only format I follow you on and I thought I may have stopped my subscription, but I hadn't and all is well !! I love the idea of a colourful boat, La Vag have an orange one, Atticus have a green one, The Wynns have a pale Blue/Green one so maybe a Red hull for you guys. Make it stand out, make it bright and make it different to match it's owners! Thank goodness ye are OK and back on our screens. Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘

  2. So glad to see you guys back! I was worried the storm took you out of commission.

The yellow pour spout goes on the inside rim, then it drains back into the can! If you put it on the outside rim, it drains into the groove, and then you have a mess.

  3. Hubby was an auto body & heavy truck painter before retirement. When we bought our RV, I wanted a red or the blue one, but he told me it would fade unbelievably. We ended up with the off white one and I was SO thankful after reading so many people complaining about their RV fading and being so much work required to keep up with it. I would recommend that you go with a lighter color.

  4. I looked into those Alexseal colours, in my opinion I would chose the following, 5195 – Santorin Blue – for below the waterline, the 1158 – Moon Dust – for above the waterline, 3158 – Toredor Red – For lettering and accents and finally, the 9132 – Cloud White – for graphics and designs like in your episode 22. I looked for pearl-ish finish colours, but Alexseal doesn't do that it seems.

  5. You guys ever going to release episode 319? (looks like a video about the storm that broke the tent) or is that going to remain a patreon only video?

  6. "Please tell us what you think would look good on our boat". You, Jessica; You would look good on your boat, lying on the trampoline in a bikini that matches the paint on the hull-sides (so gel coat's fine by me).

  7. White is the only color that doesn't absorb heat from the Sun. Maybe a stripe or a manufacturer logo or some custom graphics!

  8. Spraying anything open the gun up to full settings to start. Im sitting yelling the screen…. open the fan you should be spraying a a 6 to 8 inch fan with that gun overlapping each run… also a first coat should just be a mist coat… don't try to cover with first coat. Let that offgas then apply 2nd coat. Go for third coat if you plan on sanding before finish coat.

  9. Matt is not allowed to spray the hull until he learns to use a spray gun. Lol. There are a ton of videos out there… one guy is not far from you… I'll send you his name if I can remember it.

  10. Great progress! I like the idea of red – this will definitely stand out wherever you go. TIP: the yellow paint pouring guard is designed to be installed on the INSIDE lip of the paint can, not the outside. 🙂

  11. You might want to consider what the color is going to do inside the cabins as far as radiant heat from the sun is concerned .the darker the color the warmer the inside could become . A nice lighter color will reflect the suns rays a little better thus keeping the inside cooler and your air conditioning won’t work as hard ,, allegedly . You probably already knew this I hope .

  13. Welcome back. I’ve missed you and was worried about your silence. We’ve just had our boat painted (navy blue) and it’s fantastic. Paint your boat whatever colour you want but not pink!

  14. Red does fade fast, almost any colour would be better than white. Two pack polyurethane is a much better looking finish than gel coat and easier to keep clean. Keep up the good work but don’t get to pedantic.

  15. One way to reduce runs and splatters when spray painting is to keep your finger on the trigger and/or start pressing the trigger when you are off the part being sprayed. I'd say red would be awesome, but would it make you more of a target for thieves, etc.?
