Filleting the edges with Sika to glass over later is a real bad idea. As the name says, Sikaflex is flexible, Epoxy and Glass are way harder. The EP won't stick to the Sika for the time being on the hard. The chemistry of wet EP on dry Sika is also not tested. No where ever tried. As the Glass is only a couple of thin layers and not connected to the edge it will break.
Don't know where that idea came from, it's just weird and stupid. A naval architect and boatbuilder.
