In all the news coverage of Cole, Emilie Ikeda has given Cole the best opportunities to speak to her passions. Brava to both of these people who are pioneering how we see the future.

Wonderful accomplishment by Cole. I am saddened that she feels she has to “defend her gender” by assuring people that she is still feminine. Just because a woman may choose to wear sneakers instead of heels or forgo make-up or nail polish doesn’t mean she is trying to act more like a man. She is still a woman. All else is mere accoutrements – window dressing to assure insecure people that she remains in her prescribed sphere. Look, she can sail a boat around the world and still wear high heels! Ridiculous.
