3. I know how to tie this knot and have done so for years. I tie it a little differently since this method was hard for me to grasp, but when I first saw the knot at the start of this video, I neuron connected in my brain and I can see how to tie it this method, our brains are weird!

14. Except that that's not the Bitter end, it's the Running end! The Bitter end is inboard cleated to your vessel's Bitts… It is effectively the Standing end.

19. I wouldn't use it like that for climbing though you need to add a stopper knot because the bowline can quite easily loosen up when hanging loose

    put your hand on top and rotate
    you will end up with a loop with the end of the rope passing through it
    climbers used that method to tie on for decades
