I got a G/Fore shirt recently that was XL on the tag, but measured like a Medium. I thought maybe it was womens at first. But the more I examined it, it started to become clear it was a fake. So fake G/Fore is definitely out there – the tags will have the logo stitched instead of applied with raised rubber letters. Didn't even realize it when I saw it in the store. Extreme size discrepancies like that are also red flags – because most of the fakes are made in Asia (where the real ones are made, but the real ones are made in factories with oversight from the company to quality control for sizing) and Asian sizes are all much smaller (an Asian XL will be smaller than a US/EU XL) – when a bootlegger is affixing size tags they're doing it based on what their normal idea of an XL is. I'm not saying your Bad Birdie was a fake, but at least with G/Fore it's something to watch out for.
