An idea for the forestays pin would be to cut a flat or chamfer into the exposed end in line with the through hole to make lining it up easier.

Please buy a hot knife / rope cutter. I don't know how you can make such awesome splices and still use a lighter to seal the ends!

2.5mm dyneema shrouds with sliding splices. Much easier. Theyre just there to keep the rig up anyway.

Might be worth trying to find a M2.2 boom and kink it?
